Yukimine kept his eyes steady on the Striders. He did his best not to seem outwardly intimidated by them. At the mention of his mother's name and his position, his cheeks burned, but he did not lower his gaze. Everyone in his quarter knew, anyway. It was only a novelty. Let them think less of him. It would suit him in the long run. Yukimine kept his mouth shut as Gekido mocked them, but Ruki's feelings were bleeding off of him. He didn't look, but prayed that the vampire would be able to check himself before he got himself killed. This was not in the cards. Ruki lunged for Gekido, eyes blazing, claws bared. Yukimine snatched him back, nearly, but not quite, clothes-lining him. He held him firm and drew him close quickly. There was something about his touch that was vaguely soothing, but his focus was on protecting Ruki's life, not his feelings. Yukimine shook slightly, mostly out of fear that his ally would gnaw his arm off to get at his antagonist. "There need not be bloodshed today. You said you were here to talk, and you seem quite short on time. Speak your piece and leave this place." Princess Yuki had spoken, softly, firmly, regally. He stared at them evenly, waiting.

Gekido took a step toward Ruki and Avarice placed a barring arm before the other Strider, his expression not changing in the slightest. His green eyes matched the nuclear hue of his tie as his eyes slowly took in the trio. "Beware of those who would pass themselves off as angels. You may think we are the worst you could come across, accepting our 'demonic' heritage and embracing our darker sides as we do. But the greatest things to fear are not always the things that dwell in the darkness. The lion and wolf can both attack in broad daylight." His intense gaze made CJ's blood run cold. "Remember that, little seer." With those cryptic words, the two Striders disappeared with a clap of thunder and the scent of sulfur hung heavy in the air for a few moments.
CJ coughed, waving her hand in front of her face as though that would help clear the air more quickly of the noxious smell around them. "All I have to say to that is... What the fuck."

Yukimine released Ruki gently, smoothing his shirt where he had gripped him tightly with slight embarrassment. He looked to CJ. "That was...I don't even know. Are you alright? That was a little intense." He hoped the the princess comment would pass without a question. It was awkward to try to explain. More awkward than coming out as a vampire, he reckoned. He decided he wouldn't ask about Ruki's outburst. If he wanted to share their history, he would. But it was likely painful and deeply personal and Ruki and CJ had known him for something like an hour.

Ruki was furious, his chance to kill the damned things was taken away from him. He stood up and screamed as he put his fist into the wall. "Fuck!" He slammed his head to the wall and cursed everything in an unknown language.
He looked to Yuki and CJ, his mind wrapped around what the strider had said. "There are...worse things in the world than just those daemons..." he narrowed his vision on CJ. "And they will be coming for you...if the striders gave us warning then even they aren't sure what is coming..."
Ruki removed his fist from the wall and looked to Yuki "We have a lot of work to do Princess." He grinned and flashed his fangs, "There is a war coming...and there will be blood, death, and sacrifice." His hand cracked as he fixed the bones that were mangled by the wall. "We all have a lot to do to prepare. Weapons, abilities...they will all be needed. And until I know what each of us is truly capable of...nobody...and I mean nobody overlook anything that seems out of the ordinary." He looked to the window, "CJ...the world has just placed you in the middle of a shit storm...and I fear it's only just begun."

Yukimine unconsciously reached out and touched both of their heads, a comforting gesture his mother would do when his head was in reach. Though it was a comforting motion, it was mostly for himself. He wanted to whimper and hide in his bed at home.

CJ nodded, silent a moment as she let everything sink in.
"I'm alright, Yukimine. Thank you," she said, turning her attention to the vampire after his brief speech about doom, gloom, and their imminent destruction. "Do you have some sort of a plan, Ruki? I mean... if they could come from anywhere, attack at any time, what can we honestly do to protect ourselves? Being hyper-vigilant will only -- " She trailed off as her doorbell rang. "You have got to be kidding me..." She murmured. CJ held a finger up to both of the men. "Hold that thought."
She went to answer the door, looking through the peephole to see a pair of almost honey colored eyes looking back through the other side of the glass. Opening the door, she was instantly embraced in an almost bone-crushing hug by her Amazonian friend. "Hi... Roz..." CJ coughed as the air was squeezed out of her as the much taller woman lifted her off the ground and swung her back and forth.
"Morning, sunshine!" Roz said with a brilliant smile white enough to blind if she was in direct sunlight. She came inside and CJ hurriedly shut the door behind her, sliding the deadbolt as well as securing the regular lock, even though she knew that it would ultimately do nothing to deter their enemies.
CJ introduced them all briefly. "Roz, this is Yukimine and Ruki. They're... some friends of mine."
The other woman nodded her head to them politely. "Nice to meet ya."
CJ was pretty, but Roz was a knockout. She had long ash blonde hair so pale it was almost white, and it was pulled back into a ponytail with a few locks falling around her face that showed she had gorgeous curls. Her honey colored eyes were framed by thick, full lashes atop her perfect cheekbones that always held a healthy blush beneath that creamy skin. She was around six feet tall and had legs that went on for miles, and her whole body was lean and toned. You'd think she spent hours in the gym, and she did, but most of her looks came from her genetics, not from weights. And atop everything else... Roz had a rack that made men drool and women green with envy.
Dressed as she was now, in black jogging pants and a tight black ribbed tank top, you wouldn't have guessed it, but Roz was a stripper. She was the least girly "exotic dancer" CJ'd ever met in her entire life.

This was almost too much for Yukimine. A handful of hours earlier, he was happily arranging flowers and thinking about ducks, and now there was doom and a kyketsuki and the vision of his grown-up self and a nice waitress and some peanut butter and striders and destiny and now-
Normal women scared him, but this girl was something else. He took a deep breath and took his hand off Ruki's head. He offered it to the newcomer almost shakily. He mustered all of his lady-like tendencies towards politeness to keep himself steady. "I'm Yukimine," he clarified. "It is a pleasure to meet more of CJ's acquaintances." He didn't notice immediately, but offering his hand to someone closer his height did feel homey. He felt less awkward than he normally did, reaching down for most things. Plus, she kind of looked like some of the girls at hom-
He stopped that train of thought cold. Not today. some other day, maybe. This was enough for now, standing in CJ's apartment, shaking hands with a new acquaintance.

Ruki stared uneasily at CJ's friend. His throat burned for sustenance once again, it had been sometime now. He looked towards the window. "I have to leave." He realized how cold he may have seemed but it mattered not. He brushed past them all as he made his way out the door. "We will talk later." He placed his hand on the doorway and staggered slightly, the intoxicating smell of blood and an over use of perfume assaulted his senses.
Shaking his head he pushed on into the hallway where he staggered once more and slammed his hand on the wall. "Striders...god damn it." He did not want to leave CJ and Yuki alone knowing that they were going to be watched. It wasn't normal for them to want something and be so vague about it, they were normally so straight forward since they could do whatever they wished regardless of what it was.
((Sorry trying to get back into the swing of it again, it has been a WHILE))

Roz met Ruki's stare, unblinking. Her eyes flashed from their warm honey brown to a glacial sky blue for the barest of seconds, her gaze full of heavenly power only for him. Her lips didn't move, but he could hear her words loud and clear in his mind: "No worries, vampire. I can keep an eye on them until you return."
"Be careful out there, Ruki!" CJ called to him, but he was already gone from her sight. She found herself worried about the vampire, and thought that to be mildly ridiculous, considering she knew that the blood drinker could fend for himself. When he was well-fed, anyway. That led her to wondering how often he needed to feed...
Roz gave Yuki a sly wink, having noticed his lingering appreciative gaze. She turned back to CJ and assessed the shorter girl quietly a moment. "You look like hell, girlfriend," the taller woman said softly, sympathy obvious in her tone.
CJ sighed and sat back down at the table, motioning for her companions to also take a seat. She rested her head in her hands a moment before lifting her eyes to meet Roz's concern. "I feel like hell. Literally. Oh my god, girl... The things that have happened in just the last two days; you wouldn't believe it." So rather than beating around the bush, Carmelia went into great detail telling of her stumbling upon Ruki, and Gekido, and everything else that had transpired thus far.
Roz whistled when it was all done. "That does sound like one hell of a mess, hun. Striders..." She half-growled the word and CJ perked up at her friend's vehement attitude. "We knew they were up to something."
"We?" CJ asked, more lost than ever.
Roz leaned forward, her elbows resting on the table. She dropped her glamour and her eyes lit up the room with their icy blue brilliance. The entire atmosphere of the room became warmer, calmer, more comforting. "I knew there was a reason I'd been sent to keep an eye on you. Apparently Infernal interference is that reason. And yes, CJ. We. I'm an Inger. Half Celestial, half human."

Yuki took a step backwards and tripped over an end table, knocking it and the lamp atop it completely askew. He popped up again quickly, blushing and fumbling to put the lamp and table right. "I-I'm alright," he stammered. "Well, as alright as-" He laughed nervously and then plopped himself down in a seat. He coughed, cutting off his laughter. He swallowed hard. "As alright as anyone of us." Glamour. That would be helpful. Inger. What now? He bit his lip, looking lost. He had gotten swept up in this, but what could he possibly offer the situation?
